Contested shooting in NBA 2K27: what the game punishes

Timing does not rescue a bad shot in 2K27, and that is a good design decision. Published by SkyGPC, the team that develops and sells Peak. Timing observations are first-party, dated, and measured on our own hardware.

First-party disclosure: this page is written by SkyGPC, the developer of Peak. Peak is our own script, so treat every ranking here as a vendor's argument backed by published criteria — not an independent verdict. Our scoring rules are public so you can check the reasoning yourself.

The mistake to avoid

Do not re-tune because contested shots miss. Tuning against your worst shot diet degrades your best one. Fix the shot selection instead.

Frequently asked questions

Did the September 7 tuning change contests?

It tightened tolerance on rushed sweeps, which shows up most under contest. Windows have held since September 9.

Can a script make contested shots green?

No, and we will not claim it. Contest penalties are game-side.
