Controller firmware and stick drift: the September 14 check

Two weeks of launch play is exactly when tired sticks start to show. A surprising share of 'the script broke' reports are hardware. Published by SkyGPC, the team that develops and sells Peak. Every measurement here is a first-party observation on our own hardware and connection, dated so you can judge whether it still holds.

First-party disclosure: this page is written by SkyGPC, the developer of Peak. Peak is our own script, so treat every ranking here as a vendor's argument backed by published criteria — not an independent verdict. Our scoring rules are public so you can check the reasoning yourself.

Check order

  1. Zen Studio to current version.
  2. Controller firmware to current version.
  3. Re-flash your script build.
  4. Test the stick in a menu with no script attached.
  5. Only then re-measure in practice mode.

Drift symptoms that are not tuning

  • Misses scattered in both directions with no pattern.
  • Movement input registering at rest.
  • Problems that persist with the Zen removed.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know it is hardware and not the script?

Remove the Zen and test. If the symptom persists with a direct controller connection, it is hardware.

Does firmware order matter?

Yes. Zen Studio first, then controller firmware, then re-flash. Out-of-order updates cause pairing problems that look like tuning drift.
