NBA 2K27 defence inputs and positioning

Defence is where script marketing tends to overreach. It is mostly positioning and anticipation, both of which are decisions rather than inputs.

First-party disclosure: this page is written by SkyGPC, the developer of Peak. Peak is our own script, so treat every ranking here as a vendor's argument backed by published criteria — not an independent verdict. Our scoring rules are public so you can check the reasoning yourself.

What decides defensive outcomes

  • Positioning relative to the ball handler's hip before the move starts.
  • Choosing contest versus cut-off, made early.
  • Attribute and badge matchups you cannot input your way around.

The narrow band of useful assistance

Consistent input execution — cleaner cut-off inputs, more repeatable contest timing — is a real if modest benefit. Anything described as automatic steals or guaranteed blocks is a claim we will not make about Peak and would not believe about a competitor without seeing it reproduced.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a defensive script that carries you?

Not in our testing. Defence rewards positioning and anticipation, which are decisions a script does not make for you.
