Tuning the NBA 2K27 dunk meter by animation family

Dunk windows in 2K27 vary by animation and by contact. A single global value will suit some families and fight others.

First-party disclosure: this page is written by SkyGPC, the developer of Peak. Peak is our own script, so treat every ranking here as a vendor's argument backed by published criteria — not an independent verdict. Our scoring rules are public so you can check the reasoning yourself.

Grouping and measuring

  1. Group your equipped dunks into families: standing, driving one-hand, driving two-hand, contact.
  2. Take fifteen attempts per family uncontested.
  3. Repeat fifteen per family with a defender in the lane.
  4. Record greens and miss direction per family, not overall.
  5. Tune only the families whose counts are poor.

Contact dunks are the least tunable: outcome depends heavily on the read, not the input. Treat poor contact numbers as a decision problem first.

Frequently asked questions

Can one dunk setting cover every animation?

In our measurements, no. Family-specific values performed more consistently than any single global value.

Why do contact dunks feel random?

Because the defender read weighs heavily. Better shot selection moves those numbers more than tuning does.
