Dunk Meter by animation family: dated notes for September 14
The dunk meter behaves differently by animation family, and that difference has held all week. Treating it as one setting is the most common tuning mistake we see. Published by SkyGPC, the team that develops and sells Peak. Every measurement here is a first-party observation on our own hardware and connection, dated so you can judge whether it still holds.
Family behaviour
| Family | Meter feel | Assist approach |
|---|---|---|
| Two-hand contact | Most forgiving | Standard assist |
| One-hand contact | Tightest under contact | Slower assist |
| Baseline reverses | Camera-dependent | Manual is often better |
| Standing dunks | Short and abrupt | Minimal assist |
How to test yours
- Pick one family and take ten attempts uncontested.
- Repeat contested against a defender in practice.
- Only then adjust, one value at a time.
Frequently asked questions
Why does one dunk assist value not work everywhere?
Because the meter length and contact behaviour differ per animation family. A single value is a compromise across all of them.
Do you publish per-family notes?
Yes, dated, in the patch log and in these daily entries.
