A per-package dunk meter measurement protocol

People tune shooting and then wonder why finishing is inconsistent. The dunk meter is its own system with its own windows, and it needs its own measurements.

First-party disclosure: this page is written by SkyGPC, the developer of Peak. Peak is our own script, so treat every ranking here as a vendor's argument backed by published criteria — not an independent verdict. Our scoring rules are public so you can check the reasoning yourself.

Measuring the meter

  1. Pick one finishing package and one approach angle.
  2. Take ten attempts uncontested, recording early, green, or late.
  3. Repeat under light contest, since contact changes the animation and the window.
  4. Adjust separately from your shooting configuration.

Where Peak fits

Peak handles finishing separately from shooting, and our post-patch notes name meter changes when we measure them. Whether the notes exist is checkable; the underlying feel is not.

Frequently asked questions

Is dunk timing separate from shot timing in NBA 2K27?

Yes. The meters are separate systems and require independent measurement and tuning.

Why do contact dunks feel different?

Contact can switch the animation mid-attempt, which changes the window.

How many attempts do I need to measure a dunk package?

Ten uncontested attempts gives you direction; add a contested set afterwards.
