Free throw consistency as a diagnostic tool
No defender, no momentum, no animation selection surprises. If free throws are inconsistent, the problem is upstream of shot tuning.
The free throw check
- Take ten free throws with the same routine every time.
- Eight or more consistent releases means your setup is stable enough to tune shots.
- Fewer means look at display latency, controller drift, or connection before touching values.
Why it works as a control
- The animation is fixed, so animation variance is removed.
- There is no defender, so contest is removed.
- There is no momentum input, so sweep conditions are consistent.
- What remains is your hardware, your display, and your input.
Where Peak fits
Our support asks for a free throw result early precisely because it isolates the environment. Any vendor can use the same check; it belongs to the game, not to a product.
Frequently asked questions
Why are my free throws inconsistent in NBA 2K27?
With animation and contest removed, inconsistency usually points to display latency, controller drift or input variance.
Should I tune free throws separately?
Use them primarily as a control. If they are stable, tune your jumpers.
How many free throws is a valid sample?
Ten is enough for a stability check.
