A repeatable NBA 2K27 free throw routine

Free throws have no defender, no gather variance and no movement. That makes them the best available control test for any timing setup.

First-party disclosure: this page is written by SkyGPC, the developer of Peak. Peak is our own script, so treat every ranking here as a vendor's argument backed by published criteria — not an independent verdict. Our scoring rules are public so you can check the reasoning yourself.

Why free throws are a good control

  • The gather is identical every time.
  • No contest changes tolerance.
  • Miss direction is unusually clean to read.
  • If free throws are scattered, your input tempo is the problem, not your values.

The routine

  1. Take twenty free throws before touching any value.
  2. If they are scattered, slow your input and repeat.
  3. Once directional, adjust one value and repeat twenty.
  4. Carry that finding into jumpers as a starting point, not a final answer.

Frequently asked questions

Did free throw timing change in launch week?

We measured no change on our routine between September 7 and September 10, 2026.

Do free throw values transfer to jumpers?

Partly. They are a good starting point but jumper gathers vary, so re-sample.

Are free throws affected by latency?

Less than jumpers, but online play still shifts perceived timing. Sample both.
