NBA 2K27 free throw timing
Free throws are the closest thing 2K27 gives you to a laboratory: no defender, no contest variance, identical animation every time. That makes them both cheap points and the best place to test timing.
Why free throws are the ideal test
- No contest variable to confuse the result.
- Identical animation on repeat, so early/late data is clean.
- Fast to repeat in volume.
Routine
- Fifty free throws with one player, recording direction of miss.
- One change to timing.
- Fifty more.
- Carry the offset direction — not the exact value — into your jumper testing.
What it tells you about your chain
If free throws scatter randomly, your latency chain is inconsistent and no script value will fix it. If they miss in one direction consistently, you have a measurable offset that is worth tuning against.
Frequently asked questions
Do free throw findings transfer to jumpers?
The direction of your offset usually transfers; the exact value often does not, because jumper animations differ in length and speed.
