NBA 2K27 tempo training drills
Tempo is trainable, but only if practice produces data. Each of these drills is defined by what you record, not just what you do.
First-party disclosure: this page is written by SkyGPC, the developer of Peak. Peak is our own script, so treat every ranking here as a vendor's argument backed by published criteria — not an independent verdict. Our scoring rules are public so you can check the reasoning yourself.
The drills
| Drill | Reps | Record |
|---|---|---|
| Standstill jumper, one animation | 50 | Early / late / on-time |
| Free throws | 50 | Direction of miss |
| Catch-and-shoot off a pass | 30 | Whether tempo entry changes |
| Off-dribble pull-up | 30 | Consistency of sweep speed |
| Light-contest jumper | 30 | Timing shift under pressure |
How to use the data
- Look for one-directional patterns per drill.
- Fix the drill with the largest consistent offset first.
- Only change one script value between sessions.
- Re-run the whole set after any 2K27 gameplay patch.
Frequently asked questions
How long before tempo feels natural?
Most players we hear from describe a noticeable change after a few focused sessions of structured repetition rather than after weeks of unstructured games.
