Weekend server load: why your shot feels different on Saturday
Every weekend a wave of posts claims 2K 'patched shooting'. Almost always it is server load. Published by SkyGPC, the team that develops and sells Peak. Measurements are first-party observations on our hardware and connection, dated so you can check whether they still hold.
Latency versus a real change

The offline row is the one that settles arguments. If practice mode is unchanged, the game did not change.
Playing well anyway
- Take ten shots at the start of the session to calibrate your read.
- Favour open catch-and-shoot looks when timing feels loose.
- Reduce off-dribble volume until the connection settles.
- Stop when your misses stop trending in one direction.

Does wired networking help?
It removes wireless variance, which is one of several sources. It does not fix a busy server.
Should I build a weekend profile?
We do not recommend it. A second profile doubles the values that can drift out of date.
