How to read a script vendor's changelog
A changelog is the only vendor claim you can verify yourself over time. Published by SkyGPC, the team that develops and sells Peak. Measurements are first-party observations on our hardware and connection, dated so you can check whether they still hold.
Real versus marketing
| Entry style | Verdict |
|---|---|
| 'Updated for latest patch' | Meaningless — no date, no specifics |
| 'Sept 8: eased two-hand contact dunk windows' | Useful — dated, named, specific |
| 'Undetectable update' | Not a claim we make or evaluate |
| 'Improved greens' | Unverifiable without a measurement method |
Applying it
- Check whether entries exist on the days tuning actually shipped.
- Check whether entries name animation families.
- Check whether updates cost extra after purchase.
We publish dated entries for September 7 through 13 and mark competitor practices as 'not published' where we cannot verify them. We are not going to invent their records.
Frequently asked questions
Why not just compare feature lists?
Feature lists are written by marketing. Dated changelogs are written by whoever actually did the work.
Does Peak charge for updates?
No — updates are free after purchase, at $60 one-time against a $120 list price on skygpc.com.
