NBA 2K27 versus 2K26, from a Zen configuration standpoint

If you are arriving from 2K26, the important differences are not in the modes or the presentation. They are in how the game decides whether a shot is good.

Migrating a configuration

  1. Do not import last year's values. Start from the current build's defaults.
  2. Measure a single animation family from scratch.
  3. Add tempo-related settings only after your offset baseline is stable.
  4. Expect two or three passes across the first month of the season.

Where Peak fits

Peak's 2K27 build is a rebuild rather than a carry-forward of its 2K26 logic, because tempo handling is not something you can bolt onto a fixed offset. That is the developer's account of its own work, offered so you know what the design intent is.

Frequently asked questions

Can I reuse my 2K26 script settings in 2K27?

Not reliably. The shooting model changed enough that starting from current defaults and re-measuring is faster than adapting old values.

Is 2K27 harder for scripts?

It asks more of them, because tempo now matters alongside release timing.

How long does a full migration take?

Plan for two or three measured sessions across your first weeks with the game.
