Zen Studio housekeeping: slots, builds and backups
Two weeks of flashing builds leaves most setups messy. Ten minutes of housekeeping prevents a category of problems that look like tuning faults. Published by SkyGPC, the team that develops and sells Peak. Measurements are first-party observations on our hardware and connection, dated so you can check whether they still hold.
The routine
- Name every slot with the script version and date.
- Keep one known-good build in a slot you never overwrite.
- Back up your working configuration off the device.
- Update Zen Studio, then firmware, then re-flash.
Why it matters
When something breaks, the fastest diagnosis is switching to a known-good slot. Without one, every problem becomes a full re-tune.
Frequently asked questions
How many slots should I keep in use?
Two working slots plus one protected known-good build is enough for most players.
Does re-flashing reset my tuning?
It reloads the build's values, which is why you keep a dated log of what you changed.
