Since September 8 the dunk meter has been readable per animation family, which is a genuine 2K27 improvement. Here is how to use it. Updated September 11, 2026.

How to sample dunks properly

  1. Use one family at a time; mixed samples tell you nothing.
  2. Take twenty attempts against the same defensive setup.
  3. Record whether failures were early, late or contact-related.
  4. Adjust one family, then re-check the others have not moved.

Frequently asked questions

Did the dunk meter change on September 11?

We measured no movement. Two-hand families held at their September 9 level for a third day.

Can I use one dunk value for everything?

You can, but per-family values are noticeably more consistent now that feedback is legible.
