Offline modes worth using for practice and measurement
Not all offline practice is equally clean. Some environments introduce defenders, fatigue or animation variance that ruin a measurement set.
Environment comparison
| Environment | Cleanliness | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Free-shooting practice | Highest | Baseline measurement |
| Practice with a passive defender | High | Contested reference |
| Offline game against the CPU | Medium | Realistic shot mix |
| Scrimmage with fatigue | Lower | Late-game tempo checks |
How to sequence a session
- Free-shoot for the baseline.
- Add a defender for a contested reference set.
- Play one CPU game for a realistic mix.
- Only then go online.

This sequence is the one behind our own tuning passes. It requires nothing from us, which is rather the point of publishing it.
Frequently asked questions
Where should I measure shot timing in NBA 2K27?
Free-shooting practice first, because it removes defenders, fatigue and animation surprises.
Is playing the CPU useful for tuning?
Useful for a realistic shot mix after you have a clean baseline, not for the baseline itself.
When should I move online?
Only after your offline baseline is stable, then treat online as a separate profile.
