Park 1v1 and 2v2 as a measurement environment
If you want online data, small-sided games are the place to get it. More touches per game means a usable sample without a full evening.
Why small-sided works better
- You control your own shot selection.
- You get many more attempts per game than in Rec.
- Fewer players in the lobby generally means less latency variance.
- You can repeat the same shot type deliberately.
A short online protocol
- Play three games with one jumpshot and one primary shot type.
- Record direction of miss on clean attempts only.
- Compare against your offline baseline for the same shot.
- Adjust the online profile only, leaving your offline profile alone.
Where Peak fits
Keeping separate offline and online profiles is the workflow we recommend with Peak, and it is a slot-management practice that works with any script.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best online mode for testing a script?
Small-sided Park games, because you control shot selection and get far more attempts per game than in Rec.
Should online and offline profiles differ?
Often yes, with the online profile slightly more conservative to absorb latency variance.
How many games make a usable online sample?
Three small-sided games with one shot type is a reasonable minimum.
